The Home Depot's Debbie Rich-Walker Named P2P Manager of the Year

Direct Commerce is proud to announce that Debbie Rich-Walker, from The Home Depot, was named P2P Manager of the Year by IOFM at this month’s Accounts Payable and Procure-to-Pay Expo and Conference.

We have had the privilege of working with Debbie and seeing all she has accomplished. Currently, Debbie is the Senior Manager of Subsidiary Accounts Payable for The Home Depot. In this role, she supports three separate divisions and while each has its own significant challenges, her vision always incorporates doing the right thing for the company and her team.

In Q4 of 2015, Debbie became the lead project owner on an initiative to improve procure-to-pay functions through a cross-functional taskforce for The Home Depot Canada. She identified four areas of focus – timely and accurate goods receipts, return of product to suppliers, supplier payment discrepancies and dispute claims – and leveraged technology solutions to improve operational and financial performance in these areas.

By the end of FY 2016, a year after the P2P Standardization Initiative Project was implemented, each of the four areas experiences significant and sustained improvement. Invoices cleared, a measure of timely and accurate goods receipts, increased to 91%, supplier dispute claims decreased by 16%, and supplier payment discrepancies decreased by 20%.

Throughout her career, and most recently demonstrated in the P2P Standardization Initiative Project, Debbie has inspired more professionals to achieve sustained and sustainable change. Not only does Debbie produce results and create measurable operational change, she is a mentor and a leader in The Home Depot. She is committed to excellence and has been described as a “soft-spoken, passionate bearer of integrity” by her colleagues.

It is an honor to work with her and we cannot wait to see what else she will accomplish for The Home Depot in 2018!
