A proven business leader with a background in technology, sales, and marketing, Bruce Hanavan founded Direct Commerce in 2000. A series of in-depth customer interviews laid the groundwork for the uniquely flexible Direct Commerce platform, which remains one of the easiest-to-use S2P automation platforms for global organizations.
Before Direct Commerce, Bruce was President and Founder of Cohesive Systems, which he sold in 1996.
Bruce is an avid tournament golfer and a member of the oldest athletic club west of the Mississippi, The Olympic Club. He enjoys Ashtanga yoga and spending time with his wife Emily and two children, Grace and Henry.
As the driver of the original development team, Billy L. Williams, Jr. has intimate knowledge of the Direct Commerce platform and its ability to adapt to the specific needs of each client. Billy is dedicated to advancing the S2P industry, and has participated in and led initiatives to develop new XML standards for business-to-business electronic commerce.
Before joining Direct Commerce, Billy served as chief technical architect for Sage IT Partners.
In his free time, Billy enjoys bicycling and learning to sail on San Francisco Bay.
Our implementation guru, Tom Garlick provides the strategic vision for continuous enhancement of the Direct Commerce platform in service to our clients. He leads a team of engineering and development professionals who deliver solutions that meet each client’s exact business requirements.
Prior to Direct Commerce, Tom worked as a senior software architect at Predict X and as a senior software engineer at Kaleo IS and the American Management Association.
On the weekends, you can often find Tom kite boarding or dinghy sailboat racing. He also enjoys bicycling, hiking, and camping with his wife and son.
Mike Marken has a proven track record of knowing what customers need and how they want their service delivered. Over the course of his career he has built global and scalable processes and organizations to ensure a personalized journey is created to deliver success for his customers.
Mike guides Direct Commerce customers through successful implementations, ensuring fast, efficient, and complete supplier onboarding. He is also responsible for growing client relationships, ensuring that each customer has their own success plan in place to meet evolving needs.
In his spare time, Mike enjoys anything that has to do with Lake Tahoe, playing basketball and golf, spending time with his wife and 3 kids and rooting for his Cal Bears.
With experience at large enterprises as well as small startups, Julie Peacock understands the importance of messaging when it comes to building a brand, creating awareness, and generating demand. She brings her passion for strong and consistent marketing to Direct Commerce, where she leads global marketing strategy, communications, and growth development activities.
Before becoming part of the Direct Commerce team, Julie served as Vice President Marketing at Comprehend Systems, Inc. and Director, Financials Product Strategy at Oracle Corporation.
When she’s not working, Julie can often be found attending her kids’ soccer games with her husband or cheering on her beloved Auburn Tigers. She’s also an avid Peloton rider, whose favorite classes include Ally Love and Intervals & Arms.
